Deck & fence staining

Protect the wood you paid for.

Decks, fences, and pergolas. Cleaned, prepped, and sealed to stand up to Missouri sun, rain, and snow.

What's included

Staining that actually lasts.

Bare and weathered wood soaks up moisture and grays out fast. We clean it, sand where it needs it, and apply a quality stain and sealer so your deck or fence holds its color and sheds water for years, not months.

  • Decks, railings, and stairs
  • Privacy and picket fences
  • Pergolas and gazebos
  • Cleaning and surface prep
  • Semi-transparent or solid stain
  • Sealer that repels water and UV

From our neighbors

What homeowners say.

"If you are in need of a painting company that is reasonable, honest and has great communication, technical, and management skills. TigerStripe is the company to choose. The job they did for me was complicated because they were correcting other people mistakes. Jason has a great staff, Eric, Matt and Tim are pros and easy to be around."

Weldon Webb

"Would highly recommend working with this company. Jason Cross is very organized, professional, and communicative."

Tanner Halling

"Jason and his crew do great work!"

Common questions

Good to know.

How often should a deck be re-stained?

Most decks in mid-Missouri need a fresh coat every 2 to 3 years, sooner for decks in full sun or heavy use. We'll tell you honestly whether yours needs it yet.

Should I choose stain or sealer, and what color?

We'll walk you through it. Semi-transparent stain shows the wood grain, solid stain hides it and lasts longer, and a clear sealer protects with little color change. Your call, our guidance.

Can you stain a brand-new deck right away?

New pressure-treated wood usually needs to dry out for a few weeks to a few months first. We check the moisture and tell you when it's ready.

Do you stain fences and pergolas too?

Yes, privacy and picket fences, pergolas, and gazebos, with the same prep-first approach we use on decks.

What does deck staining cost in Columbia?

It depends on the size and condition of the deck and the product you choose. We give a free written quote after a quick look at the project.
